I’ve always found those DIN things a pain. Big, clunky and don’t seem to hold in very well. I’ve now, for the past few bikes, wired up a 12v to USB adapter instead. Miles better in every way. Dual USB too so I can charge my phone and my action cam.
Using a small sized mini-screwdriver, lever each of the brass petals of the Hella plug outwards slightly. Don't overdo it, just enough that the plug becomes a firm, secure fit in the socket. Job done.
