1200 DVT Din Hella To Usb Adapter

  1. Hi all,

Am trying to find the best usb adapter to charge my phone while using it as a sat nav on my 2015 1200s (using the din hella socket in the cockpit)

I'm using this phone holder for my Samsung S8+, which seems to work great:

And have just received this hella to usb adapter in the post and offered it up to the bike:

The adapter doesn't feel secure in the socket and feels like it might vibrate loose, has anyone got a better solution?

    Thanks all

  2. I’ve always found those DIN things a pain. Big, clunky and don’t seem to hold in very well. I’ve now, for the past few bikes, wired up a 12v to USB adapter instead. Miles better in every way.

Dual USB too so I can charge my phone and my action cam.

  3. Using a small sized mini-screwdriver, lever each of the brass petals of the Hella plug outwards slightly. Don't overdo it, just enough that the plug becomes a firm, secure fit in the socket. Job done.
