Hi, anyone recommend a disc lock for the rear wheel? Was looking at buying the Abus Detecto 7000 RS 1. ABUS - Detecto 7000 RS1 Brake Disc Lock Pixel Yellow | Buy online at Wheelup Given single swing arm with chain and sprocket in front of the disc, not sure on fitting. Ps...yet to collect bike but looking to get ahead with additional security devices. Also being fitted with ducati alarm and tracker. Front wheel has a 19mm pragmasis chain and lock in ground anchor. Tks
Hi DukeSingh - I have the Abus Granit Detecto 8077 and it only fits on the front wheel. Like you I also have the Pragmasis chain. A suggestion - you really want to use the chain with their 390mm Anti Pinch Pin through the rear wheel hub - that would make the bike a real pain to steal, especially with the 19mm Pragmasis. They would have to use very noisy disc cutters over an uncomfortable period of time for them, especially if you keep the chain off the floor with the pin. If you put the chain through the front wheel, they would have the wheel off and the bike gone in 30 seconds - disc alarm or no disc alarm. If yopu want something portable to tie the bike up whilst away, use their 13mm noose chain through the back wheel - the rear wheel is a real bugger to remove anyway and the 13mm is most practical weight and protection wise. YouTube has examples of people trying to crop it and failing so it's good enough as a deterrant.
