I bought a set of these at 7.5mm when I thought I might get away with using my OEM 916 discs for my radial conversion of my FG43 R&T ohlins. I then found I actually needed 748R, 996R discs which have a 15mm offset rather than the OEM 10mm offset. Thus I need these spacers at 2.5mm. I contacted the company that made them but they told me they cannot do them less than 3mm thick as they warp. Which surprised me. Thus is anyone on here have access to a milling machine or grinding machine that can machine them down to 2.5mm for me? Thanks.
I bought my first set (5mm) from Rich at Louigi Moto, when they arrived he had also included a set of shims that were approx 1/2mm. Which suggests they can of course be made smaller/thinner. Maybe give him a shout, sure he'd put you on to the machine shop that makes his for him. IIRC he told me the set he sold me where a byproduct of some old skool dicks he has made. PS. Your welcome to the 4 shims I have if they are of use...
Rich got his done by an old boy in his shed locally to him and hes advised I do the same, which is fair enough. So Ive contacted a machine shop.
Ive got a call out to a couple of local engineering shops, until i hear from them I need them. If its easier for them to make me some 2.5mm ones then we can do a deal.
I could probably find someone local to me. Ive put a request out to a couple within 10m walk from my house. BTW Toby if you need them for the same reason as I do, then you may need to check whether your speedo drive will still fit.
ok - just thought as the other place will still have the CAD program. Unless said 'old boy' whittled them down from the solid with nothing other than his pen knife and trusty bastard file! ompus:
I'm at work at the moment but I will knock up the plans in CAD over the weekend and post them here for anyone else.
Yeah I'd even gone to the trouble of designing some new carriers but I'm fitting the Translogic now so don't need the speedo drive, spacers will do the trick
I'm getting a new set laser cut for me by a firm in Crawley. So these are yours Toby but I might need them temporarily for the company to copy instead of me sending them plans. When they confirm Ill let you know.
They just need a DWG. So these are yours @Tobytyke. Just cover the postage. I'll weigh them later and let you know.
