Hi all, Tried the search function, but no luck. The back light on the display on my 749 has over half failed. 45 deg angle across the rhs now does not light up. All the info is there and works fine, just bloody annoying that i cant see it all in the dark. I'm worried this could become expensive especially if i need to replace the whole unit. Any help would be great. Dave.
They are a sealed unit, there is no access to replace bulbs I'm afraid. The glass on mine cracked once which is a known but 'unrecognised fault' by Ducati. I was quoted from a dealer over £500 for a new unit. It was repaired under warranty and the dealer said they managed to open the casing without damaging it and replaced the glass so it might be possible. I have a spare unit which I have just for the glass. Somebody has tried, before I owned it, to open it up but the casing split and bits broke off, so if your going to attempt it take your time and be careful!
Give Scorpio a call Scorpio Electronics Mark there should be able to help. The 749/999 speedo is not a sealed unit. It comes apart by carefully pushing in some lugs around the case join.
