Anyone had any dealings / bike servicing done here? - I didn't even know there was a Ducati dealer in Stoke till this morning & they're now my nearest so was thinking of having the 7500mile service there. Any comments or advice welcomed. Second question is what is the typical cost of that service & is it worth having a 2010 multistrada serviced at a dealer anyway just to have the "service booked stamped" don't think there's anything me & my mate couldn't do ourselves ????? cheers
Cheers didn't know about Moto-R either, would you rate them better than Woods in Abergele then cos that was the other option to DMC
Ducati Stoke are part of the Ducati Manchester group. I trust Manchester and have a great service from them. I would have no reason to believe that Stoke wouldn't be the same to deal with. ps - thread moved to the right section
Rich was the technician from woods and would rate them about the same Rich being cheaper and will try get you in the same week also nice cafe next door, woods are good by giving you a courtesy bike usually a demonstrator. Personally I wouldn't use Manchester or dmc if I can help it they never seem to get the job right first time! And the service manager at Stoke in his previous job spoke to me like a right twat ones so I wouldn't be giving him a glowing reference. Have a ride down to Moto R and woods see what you think. Had dealings with Stoke on Scrambler and Pani, no issues very friendly and excellent service, talk to Paul for service or Simon for sales. I've been on a few ride outs with the guys too
If you buy the OEM Ducati service parts and keep the reciepts I wouldn't have an issue buying a bike home serviced by some one competent.
Head over to Nottingham and Cornerspeed. Its to far and worth it. Safe and sound proper Ducati service
Doesn't seem to be the popular view on here, but I just use a local guy that I like and trust, and have used for all my bikes. I don't see why working on a modern Ducati is anymore difficult than any other bike? Based on the prices I've had quoted by a maindealer and a specialist I've saved a fortune over the last 10k miles and *touch wood* the bike is running great at always (Please fate - I touched wood ) Once out of warranty any impact on value will be negligible I'd have thought.
have you added him to the indi map? "check out or add/edit the DucatiForumUK Independent Mechanic Map here DucatiIndiMap" Pete
I agree with you, but here in Stoke I have tried the most liked, well respected non Ducati garage. They told me that my bike is running fine, when it clearly has a slight misfire. I was then told by the owner "That its just the way they are. I had one once myself, but got rid because they are too temperamental". I like the guy, and I paid my small bill and left. Maybe I will get an MOT done someday, or buy some gloves. Right now I want fully Ducati trained mechanic who will cure the problem. I fully expect DMC to do this albeit at a price.
