1200 Does The Crud Catcher Actually Work ?

  1. So, my Multistrada had the fugly crud catcher removed at birth but having been riding a lot of country and village roads the last few weeks, the bike is caked in muck and grit and the back of my jacket is the filthiest it's ever been. Does the crud catcher really do an effective enough job to put up with just how ugly it is ? Andy

  2. In a word, Yes! my jacket stays clean and even when I have the top box on it stays almost totally clean too.

  3. Yes. HTH.

  4. Yes it does

I took mine of because I didn't like the look, but my Mrs pillion got covered in crud when it rained

Bought a carbon one and put it back on and nothing like as much [emoji106]

  5. Well mine certainly keeps my gear clean, but as for the bike, absolutely forget it....:Wtf:
I went out for an 'assumed' dry..ish ride on Saturday, on my wonderfully cleaned, polished and prepared PP, only to return from Bristol a little after 4 hours later, having ridden through a few pools across various roads, to get home and find I'd quite simply wasted my time cleaning the damn bike. :Meh:
So cleaning stuff out again and more skin off my fingers to look forward to. Don't you just hate it when these things can't clean themselves?
Why can't they introduce the approach set-up for cookers in the home, they clean themselves don't they and I thought the Audi mantra is "Vorsprung-durch-technik" isn't it, so what's going on here?:Smug:

  6. It works. I live up a mile of motocross track that masquerades as our drive. When I realised that I was always getting a load of crap over the back end of the bike, I left the crud catcher off after adjusting the chain. Never again: one return trip in muddy conditions and I was out with the pressure washer, hosing down the bike AND my riding gear. Even my helmet (ooerr, missus etc…) had a skunk stripe up it.

  7. Okay guys, I'm convinced. Gives me a job to do at the weekend. Thank you all for your feed back. Andy
