Doing My Laundry, Keeping Kit Clean Ya Mingers

  1. It's been reet warm and to wear the proper gear often means getting off the bike at the end of the day smelling like a tramps crotch.

I've also noticed many washing machine detergents are now leaving a waxy/soap layer due to them cleaning at lower temps that doesn't fully clean, so the extra soap smell is to disguise the fact that yes you still ming, a bit like spraying your best underkrackers with multipie skidmarks in with febreeze just to kid yourself they are clean

For cloth I'm going to try and leave the conventional laundry detergent alone and try a non bio sports laundry detergent

So, whether cloth or leather, what do you use the clean the outside AND the inside, what has worked and what hasn't, tips on gloves, trousers, jackets are welcome.

If your a rock hard biker who stinks of piss, sweat and oil, your views are welcome too

  2. One thing I never do is interfere with the Wife's domain..... Washing and cleaning. Just hand it over and tell her to get on with it..
    PS: I hope you're a fast runner.....

  7. I wash my leathers once a year in the washing machine under delicate wash. I let it dry for a day and they use leather master kit or the dainese leather cleaning kit (both are the same). For soap I use whatever is the most neutral ph I can find.

For my leather pants I have had to do multiple washes at times...

  8. Foam +sponge to clean the inside of leathers... Gliptone liquid leather gt11 and gt12 on the outside.
Using non-bio Persil gel for couple of years now..since having little babies :)

  9. I've never felt comfortable in a leather jacket so when ever I can I tend to use fabric with leather strides, not a good look in asda but it works perfectly fine on the bikes

not recomending anywhere to purchase it but have often used this for inside of boots plus more

Fabric jackets I tend to have 2 and low wash/low spin one to then leave it a few days to dry and again use the dettol on the inside to prevent mingism. Leather strides again 2 pairs so one works whilst the other is being cleaned, warm non bio soapy water, followed by a dry and quick spray again of the dettol.

I'm sure most are aware of "wicking" clothing but if you are not, summertime is a great time to get aquainted, do not pay over the top as halfords and even some of the cheapo places like lidl and aldi does some events, Wiggle cycles also has such sales

Gloves again multiple pairs and a gentle wash/dry/dettol. I used to have some old paintball tubes to use to keep the fingers shaped whilst drying or something similar.

because I like to offer a broadchurch I would not discriminate against those blokes who go on a mates week away, puke over each other, get so sweaty that a thai hooker shop would be proud and your grundies echo a 1980's tiger stripe cammo.

The smell of stale beer, kebabs and cannabis can be found in most high streets most weekends and unfortuneately I always seem to find the women that feel this is a designer perfume

  10. Leathers, I clean the outside with saddle soap. The inside?, well I just hang em out to 'air' in back garden. I tend not to shit and piss inside them, so its just sweat.

I then use that Chelsea leather food on leathers, boots n gloves.

  11. I wear merino underlayers cool in summer warm in winter and they never smell so leathers never get infected on the inside

Outside I use saddle soap once a year and or Daytona boot cleaner and restorer
