Fitted this yesterday. Original plan was to do the mod with the R1 throttle tube which failed on multiple levels so literally chucked that in the bin within 30 mins.... Ordered the XM2 - the old throttle cable ran over the top of the bars whereas the XM2 ran underneath...at that point i wasnt sure if it would work but took the punt anyway as the stock Domino throttle from what i can see doesnt off the option to change cams (not that i would) i just like that option... Didnt take long to fit....only used one of the two cables, didnt need to take anything off of the bike to get it fitted. Used a bit of thread lock on the screw at the throttle body end to make sure that doesnt come out... So, first and foremost, the throttle action is definately smoother and lighter than the stock. Ive only ridden it to work so i cant really say much else. Second, ive got the white cam in there, which apparently is the most extreme...but ill say that for me...it feels more or less like stock....i was expecting it to be quicker....and if i was a betting man i would say ive still got more or less the same amount of "twist" to get to open throttle... Thats not the end of the world tbh but the most surprising was the smoothness, and lightness of movement....if im travelling long distance that would alot less fatigue on the arm...and ive got quite a stiff shoulder, which im currently, painfully stretching every day to fix.. Ordered another one for the zed yesterday and will get one for the RSV4 (that the TT bike) so the one i tend to do the single longest distance on albeit once a year...ill take a pic later on.
Actually just to add to this for me personally its a bit of a game changer as my right wrist is fucked...still works but generally knackered from an initial accident 18 years ago which caused massive trauma to tendons, nerves blood vessels, pretty well, everthing (essentially, at the time, i cut through the lot) and then a few weeks back by completing the job and smashing the bone...so any change to throttle action, smoothness and lightness makes a big difference to me...
Yep - amazingly, physically it all still works mechanically ( ie i can still touch type..not 100% accurate but thats getting better also) - restricted at the moment...but each day im able to do a little bit more...ie the process of putting my leather jacket on to go on the bike....last week...good arm on first (usually bad arm on first but no chance) today i can...
