Hi Folks - I'm new to the forum, my Dutch friend recommended I should join . I have found a Ducati 749 R in the UK. Unfortunately, it's not located near to me, so need to do some investigation etc. It's a Japanese import bike, so apparently has no service history. The dealer did mention that it would be fully serviced before sale. However, having no back service history, would this be crucial . Also the dealer appears to have had the bike for around a year , which kind of sets off alarm bells? Any thoughts, tips and comments would be really welcome. Thanks again
Which dealer is it ? If its one of the better well known dealers then it would make a big difference as they wont sell a pup. Its not unusual for Jap imported bikes not to have a traceable history either. There are a few of these around so don't be blinkered if its the first you have seen.
Hi Jet Black, a reply from NL, Pics and mileage would help... "the dealer appears to have had the bike for around a year" I wouldn't worry to much about this, people are not standing in line to get their hands on an older Ducati, I have been following "Marktplaats" for over a year when it comes to Ducati's advertised. Some 748-996-998-749-999 have been there for a looooooong time, offered by Dutch dealers with a great reputation.
