Someone has scribbled something illegible on the seat of mine and was wondering whether to clean it off.....

Also "B. McCaeath" is inscribed under the seat. A long time ago there was a thread about names under the seat.

My Monster S4 (now a custom mashup with a Panigale rear end, 916 tank, S2R swingarm and BST wheels) had “Carla” engraved on her underparts.

Lovely bike btw @cookster - the best bike I ever owned (the engines are an absolute peach) was my 996S which unfortunately got stolen only two months after I got it. I still don’t know for sure how the thieves did it, as I came out one morning and just found the Almax chain which had been looped through the frame still locked to the ground anchor with the bike nowhere to be seen. It was like Paul Daniels had been in the night. They must have either cut the frame spar or broken into the house and found but then returned the key.
