So, this is the overview of the T9. The bike was originally built by a team from Preston for 2005. The frame was purchased new from Ducati late 2004, which I have researched through a main dealer up here. There is an invoice at Ducati for this. They don’t give as much information as they used too due to gdpr! So, a superbike spec motor went in along with race dash, loom, 05 swingarm etc. It was prepared as a wet, spare bike but unfortunately something happened with the team and the racing didn’t happen. It was then put up for sale. The guy who bought it was a photographer and wanted to do a few track days on it and it was decided between him and the disbanded team that the full sbk motor would be too much to maintain for track days so it was swapped with a new spare 999R motor, which is the engine that’s in it now. The new owner did a few track days on it but with his business getting busier just didn’t have the time to ride it. So instead of selling it, it spent over 10 years in his office on display! After that a deal was done to sell it to the guy who I bought it from who wanted to get into the Ducati seen as a few of his track days mates had them also. Again the bike was hardly used due to other commitments so he advertised it and I jumped at the chance. So, I gave it a full going over and sent it to Lee at Moto Technica who did the belts and checked the shims which were all good. He did say it was like new in there! I’ve always had race bikes over the years and enjoy prepping them to a good standard. Before I took it to Spain in February I had the fuelling set up on the dyno as it’s running an age related power commander and it hasn’t missed a beat since then. Pulls like a train to be honest, I was at oulton park on Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed riding it! So, spec: Ohlins fg 8920 radial forks set up by kais suspension, New sbs race pads, Brembo radial clutch and brake master cylinders, Quick action throttle, Aim race dash Race loom with pc3usb, Ohlins steering damper, 57mm full termi system, Corse oil pressure kit, Renthal grips, Ducati performance filters, New skidmarxs tall screen, Ducati performance carbon front and rear mudguards, Billet race fuel cap assembly, 749r slipper clutch, Speedymoto and r&g protection, Ducati performance carbon open clutch cover, Various footrest options inc RS corse, cycle cat, race shift and road shift options, Iconic parts billet chain adjusters, New chain and Ducati performance sprocket, Engine case saver from Dragos, Carbon intake runners, plus originals, Ohlins DU301 fully adjustable rear shock, high and low speed compression damping, auto pre load and rebound adjustment, again, set up by kais suspension, 2moto kit battery tray with shorai lithium battery, new battery leads, Spare wheels and discs which are mint, Adjustable seat position alloy subframe, Race bodywork (odd mark here and there but no crash damage), RRG rad guard, Off the top of my head I think that’s it! That’s truly wonderful. A hate people that say what I’m about to , but I’ve advertised my R1 recently and if it had sold I’d be buying yours as I’ve always fancied a 999.
I can vouch for the bike as it kept over taking me on Wednesday. I had a look round it in the pits and it's a cracking bike . glws mate
Should have said hello! Ian and I were both sharing the same garage.. anyways, the bike is a stonker. Proper trick. Didn’t miss a beat in Cartagena and again at oulton!
I pop down lunch time bud to come and say hi but the other guys in your garage said you'd wondered off , I hung around for 10 mins or so looking at your bikes but guessed you guys were having lunch some where.
I fitted similar on one of my old bikes, not lock stops per se, there to protect the frame if/ should the lock stops fail/snap in an off.
whats the power curve like? can you pop the rolling road printout up so I can see? Any spares with it? thanks.
