Seeking thoughts and opinions - So I am a bit of a Mr Fussy ...yep I spend a lot of time cleaning and polishing but I still ride fast but only on nice days ...Too old for that sort of cold and wet stuff - Done too many miles in the past so that's not for me... This is one of my machines just to give you a feel for what kind of a geek I am www.my999.co.uk So recently I have been drawn to the Monster ..and I quite fancied getting a late EVO model. Even got to the point where I travelled to go and see a low mileage jobbie..However I have to say that when I came face to face with it I was more than a little disappointed at the advanced stages of corrosion on all the alloy components - Of course lets be sensible and this will be dependent on the conditions the bike has been used etc etc which is obvious but given this was only a bike that's 18 months old It was not what I expected - So thinking this was possibly a one off - I checked out another example - again under 2K miles but this time a 2012 - So from the images I have seen seems to me this is a common place situation....So my question is - Is there any opinion that the quality and durability is getting poorer over the more recent models in the search for lightness and cost cutting -Or has this been around for a few years and because my real interest lies in the older Duke's I just haven't noticed? Seems to me that with one of these new monsters you would have to be spraying the WD all over the place if you are a Mr Fussy ... Thanks
