A few buddies and I visited the Ducati Factory a week ago. We were told that pics weren't allowed and had stickers stuck on the camera lenses. So here are a few discrete snaps from the phone. The only area where Ducati actually fabricate their own parts. (I forget what it was) This was the engine running in cell - turns out that every engine is run-in for about 50 miles. The operator was simply holding the engine at various revs for various periods of time. It was specifically highlighted to us that 30% of the workers at Borgo Panigale were women
After the factory, we continued to the Museum! The guys who rode these had serious balls. The real deal.
Cheers, it was well worth the 250mile race south through the Dolomites against the German tourers doing the Passo Gardena, Pordoi, and Campolongo to get there on time! (but that's another story )
Is it still the case that Ducatis can park inside the gates but non-Ducatis have to park on the street?
Something sad about seeing race bikes sat stationary in a museum. All that potential and speed doing nothing.
Yep, parked the Panzer bus on the street! Indeed, like today at Goodwood where Ducati brought 4 of the collection to the FoS and ran them up the hill
Crankshaft's and camshaft's Nice pictures from inside the production. They will hunt you down now....
I have been told by the Factory tour guide previously that the girls do the head shimming because they are better at it. Don't know what else they do but, knowing modern Italy, probably involved in everything. Good on them .
