Ducati Odometer Mismatch After Instrument Cluster Replacement

  1. Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share an experience related to cluster recalibration. A friend of mine crashed his 2021 Ducati V4 during a mountain ride, and the instrument cluster was completely destroyed. He brought the bike to my shop, and after repairing the damaged parts and installing a brand new dashboard, I noticed that the odometer reading on the new cluster wouldn't sync with the mileage stored in the ECU—no matter what I tried.

After doing some research, I discovered that many Ducati models do not support automatic odometer synchronization between the ECU and the instrument cluster. Unlike some other brands, Ducati often requires manual intervention using diagnostic tool.

I borrowed an OBDSTAR MotoMaster scanner from another friend, and found a function called "Instrument/BBS mileage synchronization". Once executed, this function instantly synchronized the mileage on the new dashboard with the correct value stored in the vehicle’s system.Really impressive functionality.
