Hello All, I'm looking for a bit of information and thought I would reach out here, I have been trying to find the current values of the Ducati Pantah 650 SL. Currently I am probably underinsured but when there are no examples currently for sale it's difficult to judge market value. The example I own is original unrestored and covered 15K KM imported from Italy. Anyone have one, or seen one for sale recently? Would be good to talk with people who are in the know... Couple of poor-quality snaps for your interest... Thanks All, Rich
Hi, and welcome. I suspect you have already researched what you have and have read what there is from the likes of Ian Faloon etc. Value is always difficult on such an unusual old machine. Rare, yes, but not everyone's cup of tea, so value is very much what someone is willing to pay at any particular time. Insurance value isn't really any more clear in my opinion. Were you to have the misfortune of having it stolen or written off, yes you would get a settlement, but where would you find another one from if they rarely come up for sale. What do you currently have it insured for?
Sorry, I have no idea what your bike is worth but it is absolutely gorgeous - definitely one of the most attractive Ducatis ever (in my humble opinion) and in the best colour scheme. I bet it sounds great too. You’re a luck man.
Hello, and thanks guys. I have it insured for £12k. Yes, you are correct, rare does not equate to high value- and I am not trying too artificially raise the values of these just haven't been able to find one for sales as a point of reference. If the worse were happen like it was stolen, I don't think you would be able to find a replacement, as you have said... Yes, it sounds great on the Conti's Thanks guys
Give Brian at The Italian Vintage Company, or John @ Made In Italy Motorcycles a call, failing that the Italian Motorcycle Owners Club should be able to value it. Lovely machine! Would previously have said DOCGB, but they seem to have turned into Clownforce.
Yeah, that's a real good looking bike. The beginning of the modern era of Ducati bikes and as other have mentioned it's value is pretty much dependent on what someone would be prepared to pay for it. Get two bidding across each other and who knows? 12k seems like a decent finger in the air price to me & I reckon the Conti's on their own would be a bob or two. I've seen original ones for the bevels listed at over grand.
