    • Ducati presents the new 2019 model range in Birmingham at Motorcycle Live
    • UK debuts for Multistrada 1260 Enduro, Diavel 1260, Hypermotard 950 and Panigale V4 R
    • New Ducati apparel range available to purchase in the Ducati store

Following on closely from last week’s EICMA show in Milan, Motorcycle Live welcomes an array of new models and new updates to the 2019 range.

Ducati dealers, customers and press were blown away by the new Ducati and Scrambler model ranges at the recent Ducati Premiere in Milan. The headline moment was unquestionably the unveiling of the new Panigale V4 R, however new additions including the new Diavel 1260 and 1260 S, Multistrada Enduro 1260, Multistrada 950 and 950 S, Hypermotard 950 and 950 SP and V4 S Corse were not to be overshadowed.

There are also updates to the Monster range with new colour schemes for the Monster 797 and 797+ and a striking stealth version of the 821. There are also new colours for X Diavel and Supersport in matt liquid concrete grey and matt titanium grey respectively.

The Panigale V4 R is the ultimate road-legal Ducati race bike. Compared to the previous R version, the Panigale V4 R has become even more track focused with technology taken directly from MotoGP. The modifications extend far beyond the engine and suspension set-up: they also include the fairing, designed and developed by Ducati Corse in close collaboration with the Ducati Style Centre to improve aerodynamic efficiency.

The Panigale V4 R is to all intents and purposes, a road-legal WSBK category competition bike and constitutes the technical foundation for the official Ducati Superbikes that will compete in the World Championship as from the 2019 season.

The Desmosedici Stradale 1103 cm3 engine has been replaced with the 998 cm3 Desmosedici Stradale R to comply with displacement limits set by WSBK rules. The new engine produces 221 hp (162 kW) of power at 15,250 rpm (EU homologation values), 2,250 rpm higher than the point of peak power on the 1103 cm3 V4. These impressive figures can be taken even higher by fitting the full-racing Ducati Performance exhaust by Akrapovič, which boosts maximum power to an astonishing 234 hp (172 kW) at 15,500 rpm. In short: the most powerful Ducati factory motorcycle ever!

The V4 S Panigale also sees the addition of a new livery, the V4 S Corse, inspired by the paint scheme used on Michele Pirro’s bike in the race of champions at World Ducati Week.

Another bike that was seen exclusively by visitors to World Ducati Week, the Diavel 1260 is an eagerly awaited bike. The new Diavel 1260 benefits from the Testastretta DVT 1262 engine, thus retaining that deeply satisfying torque curve that provides both breath-taking acceleration and a low-rev smoothness that's ideal for everyday riding or touring, the engine is capable of delivering 159 hp (117 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 129 Nm (13.1 kgm) at 7,500 rpm.

The legendary Monster range welcomes a new version to the family with the addition of the Monster 821 Stealth featuring matt black livery and red graphics, quick shift system, adjustable fork and nose fairing. The Monster 797 and 797+ also benefits from striking new liveries.

Another exciting 2019 bike is the new Multistrada 950 S. A major upgrade of the smallest Ducati 'multibike', this latest Multistrada features cutting-edge technology to boost safety and riding enjoyment: electronic Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS), Ducati Quick Shift up & down (DQS), full-LED headlight, 5" colour TFT display, Hands Free system, Cruise Control and backlit switchgear controls. From a styling viewpoint, the new Multistrada 950 inherits the side 'wings' from its bigger 1260 counterpart, making the lines of the front cleaner and more streamlined. It also features hydraulic control and, above all, Bosch ABS Cornering, which increases active safety.

An all-new motorcycle for the 2019 range is the Hypermotard 950, now more adrenalin-packed than ever, yet rider-friendly. The completely overhauled ergonomics ramps up the fun and riders can now count on an ultra-advanced chassis set-up and electronics package.
A full 4 kg lighter than the previous model, the new Hypermotard 950 carries a renewed 937 cm³ Testastretta 11° engine with a more muscular 114 hp, combining greater pulling power with new electronics to ensure smoother control.

The Hypermotard 950 electronics package includes Bosch Cornering ABS with the Slide by Brake function, Ducati Traction Control EVO (DTC EVO), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO (as standard on the 950 SP version and available as an accessory on the 950).

For those that demand even greater performance and an even racier feel the Hypermotard 950 SP features a flat seat, increased-travel Öhlins suspension to ensure an acuter lean angle (+3°), Marchesini forged wheels and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO.

The Scrambler range is updated with four new updates models, the Icon, Full Throttle, the Café Racer and Desert Sled. Each model benefits from new liveries, new headlight LED DRL (Daytime running light) Cornering ABS, softer feel hydraulic clutch control and Ducati Multi Media system.
These can been seen on the Ducati Scrambler stand along with the essential Scrambler 1100 range. The Scrambler stand will also feature the Flat Track Championship winning Scrambler Icon that was ridden to glory by Gary Birtwistle in the Hooligan series.

Visitors to the Ducati stand will also see the championship winning bike of Rob Guiver and the Ducati Romford in the Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup and the Moto Rapido Ducati, ridden by Tommy Bridewell in the 2018 British Superbike Championship.

There will be a selection of motorcycles on display dressed in the latest accessories and visitors will also be able to view and purchase a range of Ducati apparel at the Ducati shop which will be manned by staff from official Ducati dealer, SMC.
