1200 Ducati Sat Nav

  1. Wow, how easy was that to connect the Ducati branded Zumo, plug cable in under left fairing panel, run cable through to front of forks and cable tie down, mount it on the top yolk with Ram mount kit, switch ignition on, Sat Nav switches on and off with ignition, 20 mins all in and was up and running. Happy days!

  2. My 2010 Ducati branded Nuvi was the same until recently, now the power has failed, but Ducati can't source a new 'power only' cable. Tried splicing a new cable in, after identifying the data wires, but then that failed shortly after, so now I power it via a USB socket, which is ok, but start up is slow due to the attempted computer handshake (oh and can't use when raining).

Best method is the powered cradle type setup, where the power lead isn't constantly being pulled about - not sure if latest 'Ducati' navs are that type?

  3. Yes, I get that. And a prompt "Use the cable the device was supplied with". It's a pain isn't it?

  4. Total PITA, but I can't source a 'power only' lead (which had a foam weather collar around the mini USB connector), from Ducati or elsewhere?
