Borgo Panigale, Bologna (Italy), 30 September 2016 – On the eve of INTERMOT 2016, to be held in Cologne (Germany) from 5 to 9 October, Ducati will be previewing some of the latest developments for 2017 and has confirmed that the eagerly awaited SuperSport will be on show. The unveiling of this latest Ducati bike, scheduled to take place on the Ducati stand (Hall 8, Stand A42/50) at 6 pm on Tuesday 4 October, ends the special press-only day of this key international motorcycle exhibition.

After giving all the Ducatisti and motorcycle enthusiasts at WDW2016 an exclusive look at the SuperSport, the new sport road bike from the Bologna-based bike manufacturer is now ready for a wider audience.

The new SuperSport is a bike for those eager to ride sports-style on everyday roads. Fun, versatile and accessible, with true Ducati sports styling and zest, the SuperSport promises exciting, fun riding sensations while ensuring everyday comfort and easy handling whatever the roads are like. An innovative leap that, even before its debut, has won widespread support and aroused considerable interest; at Cologne, the SuperSport is set to steal the limelight to say the least.

INTERMOT also provides a great opportunity to enjoy an international preview of other aspects of the Ducati 2017 range, such as the stylish "Volcano Grey" colour on the Multistrada 1200 S. More than just new colour schemes, there will be appealing, practical technical upgrades: for 2017 the Multistrada 1200 family features a new airbox in the intake zone and new engine calibration; these changes give the twin-cylinder Testastretta DVT even fuller, more satisfying mid-range power delivery (see the new video at www.ducati.com).

At INTERMOT Ducati will also be presenting the new EURO 4 engines for the Monster 821 and Diavel. The Monster 821 range, moreover, now features the appealing yet assertive “Dust Grey” colour, an opaque grey of outstanding freshness and flair that perfectly matches the red frame and wheels.

Major upgrades have also been made to the Ducati Superbike family, which, on the 1299 Panigale and 1299 Panigale S, sees the introduction of the latest EVO version of Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC). These systems, first seen on the exclusive 1299 Panigale S Anniversario, maximise the performance and active safety of this Ducati Superbike. The new DTC and DWC EVO feature a new algorithm that makes their intervention faster and more precise.

At INTERMOT Ducati will be in Hall 8 on Stand A42/50, together with Ducati Scrambler and its "Land of Joy", where events, entertainment and plenty of bikes, accessories and apparel will ensure visitors to this great biannual bike show get involved and have fun.

  1. In fairness I have not actually seen anything in " Dust Grey " yet but this quote surely belongs in the thread about annoying sayings , we are talking about the colour grey FFS. The colour of John Major`s Spitting Image puppet !
Also,I wonder how it can match anything red, it may compliment the frame and wheels but to match it then it needs to be the same colour.
Lost in translation maybe or corporate speak from someone with their head up their arse ?

  2. I think the PR comes directly from Italy and therefore the translation isn't the best. That said you'd think the marketing bods at DUK would put it right before they issued it.

  3. Probably too busy drinking skinny lattes whilst surfing the internet for beard oil .

  7. Pah, who'd want one of those old useless 1299 S panigales with the out of date electronics packages now eh?

Worthless I tell you......... I'll pay £10k for one if anybody wants to trade up to the new one ;)

  8. Interesting that there are no changes to bodywork.

I'm guessing the technical upgrades might be a q/s and autoblipper, the hill start and possibly evo electronics.

  9. It'll be the anniversario model minus the paint job.

  10. Should have mentioned i meant the Multi.

  11. I wonder if they release the 2017 1299 with underbelly exhaust, whether they'll apply the same principle of noise / emissions control back to the 959 and go back to underbelly on that?

Surely if it's possible for the 1299 it's easily possible for the 959?

Personally I've kinda got my head around a single side exit gp style exhaust like the AR or Sc project should I make the plunge on the 959

But given the resistance people have had to the current exhaust configuration, which I'm sure ducati has plenty of negative feedback on, I'd be surprised if the 2017 builds of the 959 didn't come with the same exhaust set up as the 2017 1299

  12. A bit early to start whinging i know, but I can't help being a little disappointed that the new SuperSport is going to look like the Panigale which I don't hugely like in any case. They could have taken those bits and done something a bit less pointy with the bodywork
Otherwise, I suspect, they will have produced a pseudo-Panigale without the go.

Still, let's see what Tuesday brings. I could have been excited, but I'm not so much now.
At least they have got basically the right idea: a cheaper, more road useable sportsbike. About time.

  13. Oooh it's got gold, me likey a lot :)

  14. On the red one, the front section of the side fairing is black.

Cool looking bike, should sell loads of them.

  15. Hmm no colour dash though.

  16. The supersport display reveals bluetooth connection media center and heated grips :)

  17. The bars are quite a bit higher than the seat height, should be comfortable.

That dash looks old school. Can that be right?

Gold wheels would look better though.

I'm already looking forward to a test ride.

  18. Anyone found any pics of it in the right colour?
