1200 DVT Dvt Home Made Tail Tidy (modded Original)

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Shoboshi, Feb 2, 2018.

  1. As a good many of us already know, the tail end on the DVT does leave a little to be desired.!

So I took the plunge, and the Dremel, and cut and moulded the original number plate hanger to something, which I feel, is more befitting the rear of the bike.
Currently getting ready to wire-in the led's or just go for an integrated rear light.

    Hope it's of interest....

  2. A tail tidy has always been an early mod on my past bikes, and I looked after I bought my DVT. I’ve kind of grown used to the standard item. But I could be persuaded. Can you do a side on pic showing all the bike, to better show the overall look?

  3. Where's the winkers.

  4. Wiring indicators in over weekend if I have time but may opt for integrated tail light.

  5. Indicator fitted......

Quite pleased for a first attempt but when more plastics become available, at right price, I'll do a bit different.

    Hope you like.

  6. How do you find it worhout the rear wheel splash guard? Does it make much difference?

  7. Just takes longer to clean!

Cleaning is like therapy or should I say escapology!

Gets me out of shopping with mrs.!

  8. Do you get splash back on your back/helmet? I’ve heard others state they do when it’s removed.

  9. A bit but c’est la vie!

    Doesn’t bother me too much.
If I know I’m off abroad I put carbon guard on.
