I am struggling to find a steering damper kit for a post 2015 Mutley DVT. The only one I can see is the Ducabike unit which attaches to the fuel cap mount and I am not keen on that. Strain on a plastic fuel tank doesn't sound good. It also (IMO) looks an abortion I can find decent looking damper kits for the Multi 950 and for the earlier Multi 1200's (rotary type) but there seems to be bugger all for the 1200 DVT's - does anyone know of anything I have missed ? Ta
somebody already has done one from a Enduro Mutley, he posted all the part numbers up, wasn't cheap though.
You can bolt-on the 2016 Multistrada Enduro damper on the 1260. I found a complete assembly of steering damper c/w mounts on eBay Germany that has been taken from an Enduro so I have snatched it up. It's not adjustable, but it was only 158 quid all in, which I reckon has to be worth a shot. If it will fit, I can look to maybe upgrade the damper part later. If it doesn't fit - I guess I chuck it back on eBay Always assuming it gets here of course with all this Covid BS going on at the mo I have always fitted steering dampers to every bike I had, cos I prefer the steering a bit heavier. The Multi may/may not need one, but my little voice says fit one and I will have more confidence, even if it makes little difference in reality (like lots of peeps are with tyres maybe?)....so that is the plan
No, but I have another thread running where I mounted an Ohlins beneath the bottom yoke in a similar manner to the one above if that is of help ? https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/now-you-see-me-now-you-dont.81020/
Easy bold on? Did it add some good stability to the front end? I always had Ohlins on my BMW's and track bikes with excellent results.
