749 Ecu Fault Codes?

  1. Hi

    I assume it is possible to read the codes on my 749s?

    I have held down the left button on the dash and switched on the ignition but no fault code appears on the dash. I have a misfire at very low revs and throttle position and I want to check the codes.

    Or do I assume as no code is displayed that I have no ECU stored fault?

  2. Only works if the yellow MIL is illuminated

    For stored codes you need diagnostic software

Something the dealers won't tell you is that there is free Android software out there and only requires a smart phone or tablet for the ScanM5X software plus two eBay items: Fiat 3 Pin Alfa Lancia to 16 Pin Diagnostic Cable OBDII and a ELM327 v1.5 OBDII Bluetooth Adapter Auto Scanner.   5. I meant to add that this has been used successfully many a time on my 999S. The bluetooth adaptor and cable are not expensive at all.
