848 Ecu Reflash..

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Stevie70, Aug 26, 2019.

  1. Hello all, I’m waiting for a set of Arrow slip-ons to arrive.
I’ve run a few bikes with slip-ons on a standard set up but looking on this site it seems that a reflash is the way to go!
So, can anyone here recommend somewhere around East London/Essex who can reflash my ECU?
    TIA

  2. I *think* only certain capable Ducati dealers (e.g. Moto Rapido) offer to reflash standard ecu. Could be wrong tho. You might need a secondhand Ducati Performance one if memory serves. I went down the Bazzaz route in the end. Not sure any of this helps!

  3. You can flash the existing ecu, no need to purchase another. Infact I had mine done by @chrisw on here, i’m sure he can sort you out :upyeah:

  4. There seem to be quite a few places that claim to Dyno/reflash. I’ve used BSD in Peterborough years ago for tuning and they were excellent, just looking a bit closer to home

  5. CJS do a "flash map" service also...if you can get your bik there - he'll do a custom map which is far better...

  6. I’ve seen CJS mentioned a few times. It’s a bit of a journey to get there and back from East London but if there are t any better options...

  7. Well, depends how much you like going out on your bike!! :) Forgetting about CJS but make sure if you find someone make sure theyre able not to just do "the fuel mapping" as there are other things in the ecu that can be adjusted also - ie mine (Hyper 110 evo sp) has the mapping along with and increased redline as it was still making power at the top end so increased by 500 (these are things that can only be done if the bike is actually on the dyno as every motor is different) - this can only be done on the ecu - if your tracking it the security can be deleted also....stuff like that....

  8. Cheers! Don’t mind long trips but would probably have to be the M25 and M4 ... which is dull

  9. Yeah - but, itll feel like a new bike when its done....just a warning - text Chris - he never ever answers his phone...so dont think hes ignoring you - he just tends to text.....ive known him for about 10 years and never spoken to him on the phone ever..!

  10. Something else while i think of it...if, you end up on the dyno and get it custom mapped...youll find that Chris maps each cylinder differently as the rear gets less airflow so therefore runs richer so he maps it accordingly...just to say...

  11. That’s helpful to know, thanks!

  12. I did my own Stevie, can lend you the leads to do yours if you like (presuming you have a laptop)?

I’m ten minutes North of South Mymms.

  13. Thanks, I dont have a lap top..A bit technically challenged

  14. I would use bsd in Peterborough it’s only about 60 miles from you they specialise in Ducati’s first class service they charge approx £350 for dyno time and reflash well worth the money I’ve had my zzr1400 done there I can’t rate them enough

  15. I used SDC Performance in Stevenage a few years ago to set up the Nemesis on my 1098 and was very happy with the result, done on the dyno while I waited with before and after printouts, don't remember what it cost but wasn't exhorbitant. Worth giving them call and talking over what you want done?
