Silly questing but when replacing the ecu is it a straight swap? Or will I need any codes or diagnostics?
@chrisw is your man. He was incredibly helpful when I had ecu problems with my 999 and actually flashed a more reliable ecu from a later bike, not even a 999, with a map for my 999. My experience was that a replacement ecu doesn’t need coding in any way but a replacement dash would.
Gen1 is straight forward just swap it out like for like. You’ll need the PIN code from the replacement ECU . I believe Gen2 is locked down more to key or dash .. can’t recall which
