A bit off-topic, I realise! I have a Yahoo email address and after going through the nightmare of getting that email address recognised with banks and thing, I am never changing it! However, I used to use an old version of Microsoft Outlook that was fine, but the computer it was on went 'pop'! I am now done with Microsoft and will definitely, definitely not use any versions of Office or Outlook ever again. I tried to go for what was supposed to be the better version of Yahoo mail and it is shittier than a very shit thing! There are emails in my email folders that search just cannot find, yet I know they are there somewhere! Anyone using good email software running on Windows 11? By good, I am setting the standard quite low as the Yahoo web stuff is beyond crap!
I suspect they all do underhand things with our correspondence re advertising etc so on that basis I doubt one email is better than another. So my preferred email provider is down to how good it is at preventing spam arriving in my inbox, together with the quality of the interface itself/ ease of use. Naturally I will not use one which has banner ads of any type. I've tried a few different ones but for the last decade Gmail comes out on top for me everytime. The zero spam for 10+ years is outstanding.
This is why email apps like Thunderbird are so useful because it means you don't have to log into & use your email providers web interface. You log into Thunderbird, it logs into your email server and downloads (only) the mail and you can then read/manage them via the ad free interface Thunderbird provides.
I tried Thunderbird and it was useless - something about too many handles open before it even showed any emails! Gone back to the free email software that came free with Windows. Although many internet eggspurts labeled it as shit, seems to work well for me!
