End Can Or Link Pipe?

  1. Bit of advice needed?
My Multistrada enduro is loosening up nicely and is like a big, tall, angry sports bike in sports mode!!......love it.

Thinking about an end can but my stock one does pop and fart nicely on downshifts but would a link pipe like a MIVV release a bit more power and smooth out the slight flat spot at 6000 revs?

It’s not the noise I’m after but just smooth out power delivery?

  2. @GunZenBomZ is your man.

IMHO it will be pretty much the same, actually may gain a bit midrange but lose top end power: the DVT motor doesn't seem to relate horses as easy as the previous models with just a system and air filter.

  3. If you leave the lambda sensors in place (which you should unless you are also having a re-map) it will make no discernible difference to the power, it will just be louder, If you have a re-map it will make slightly more power, depending on the map it may have more torque or more top end bhp, but the bike is already very powerful so what’s the point? , the only valid reason to replace the standard system is if you want more noise or prefer the look of the replacement system, also you may save a few kg but again what’s the point on a bike that is capable of removing your arms from your shoulder sockets in standard trim:)
If the bike is snatchy then a booster plug will calm it down slightly at low revs with no loss of power, I fitted one to my Scrambler and they do work, but then I found that I missed the snatchiness!, it gave it character, so I took it off again.

    Leaving as is

  5. you have successfully resisted the innate biker urge to fiddle and mess with something that is as good as it’s gonna get :), we’re all guilty of it, me as much as anyone:), just about to fit high level carbon cans to my 900ss, will it make it any better?, of course not!.
