Can anyone recommend or point me to a site where I can get some engine case sliders for my 748? I've read that the frame sliders are not a great idea since in a crash they can get hung up and actually twist up your frame. I can get a set of body parts cheaper than what it would cost to replace the frame or get a new bike. So I'm not worried about messing up my plastic. Ric
You can get frame sliders that sit under the fairings, these should keep the engine off the road whilst using the bodywork to spread the weight and prevent digging in...
A couple of US sites used to stock the frame sliders. A Google search should throw them up. I do not know of any UK source, and quite likely any stocked would have come from the US. You could look at engine armour for the clutch and alternator as an alternative. The clutch side in particular can take a beating in an accident.
