Engine Casing Removal

  1. Good day all,

    After some tips on removing an engine case that is sealed on well with uni bond?

    Don't want to damage the paint or the mating surface

  2. Roadkill,
    May be a little heat to soften, your going to have to gauge it not sure what paint you have on it. Mine was stuck with the original gasket I got a large banjo bolt the same thread as the oil cap and screwed it in to try and force the faces apart you can also pull it away from the main casings.
    Again your going to have feel how much force your happy to apply.
    Have a measure I think it's M22 x 1.5 I think more of a hydraulic thread that's why I chose a banjo bolt.

    Once you get a little gap you slip a thin blade in.

  3. Gently pry it off - they are tough but do come off eventually
     
  4. Give it a light tap all the way around with a rubber mallet, helps free it off.
