As stated before, I have a 996 bip with 50mm micron end cans( I didn't buy them) and have just bought a DUCATI 996 EPROM O 50 open exhaust chip 965031AAA. Any views on its compatibility. Just thought it might clean up the 4000 fuel glitch and give me a few more ponies? Thoughts? Also, does it just pull out from the rubber circle on top of ecu under seat??
So the part number you have is the DP EPROM for the full 50mm system. I'm not sure from your post if you just have 50mm end cans or the 45/50mm half system or the full 50mm system. The picture of your installation looks nothing like my 748R though. Chances are that you will be over fuelling which is better than running lean but unlikely to see big performance gains. I have had difficulty getting someone to write a unique map to an EPROM although CJS advertise that they do. PC III may be the way to go depending on what return in performance you are looking for for your buck. Andy
Mines a 996 bip, intending to get lightened flywheel next month. I've got end cans only from what I can tell. Everything else standard, I think.
Best route is a custom map by someone like CJS, a powercommander will work but only has very limited parameters whereas a custom will cover a much broader spread. If you intend to do any upgrading\changes to the engine get it all done first and then have it mapped. A stock Eprom is just a rough catch all by comparison and make not even work properly with some changes and the bike could be glitchy although it's always worth trying it out first. A custom map will also release your bikes full potential. CJS RACING Motorcycle Dyno Tuning Ducati & Superbikes Bristol ECU Custom Mapping
