1200 DVT Ergonomic Niggles

  1. Just a couple of niggles on the DVT and not sure if anyone else has had the same or found a solution.

    1) riding around town the other night in Urban Mode bike was handling lovely but all of a sudden I thought phew my left calf is getting a bit toasty. So it continued until I felt it was seriously hot and in danger of scalding my leg. I was riding in Kevlar jeans. This is not something I have noticed before at any point of concern but this was coming from the hose on the left side (obviously). Even out in the country I found it bothering me but less so than in town. I ended up riding with my left peg stuck out. It reminded me of riding a Harley in LA and the engine heat of that was overwhelming. This wasn't as consuming as that but much more specific in area. When I got back I showed my leg to my son who had a bloody hell look on his face. Calf was very sore. Is there a fix or anyone noted the same? Maybe it was just the circumstance as like I said not noticed before.

    2) Right foot I can't get real comfy with when riding on balls of my feet. I think this is historical MTS as I've seen it mentioned on here on older model threads. It just seems to rest on the top of the exhaust but in a pigeon toed kind of style making it feel unnatural.

    3) I've caught the hazard warning light and the main beam a few times when turning indicator on or off. Not sure why but this one I will just mind map eventually and it will go away. Had cars flashing whilst I'm merrily trundling away hazards going berserk!

Other than that all good. very comfy riding position. Not noticed much in the way of buffeting. Easy to get on with at all points of the ride and with the garaging at the end of the ride. Very nice:upyeah:

  2. Re your points
1 - Not had any issue could be the way that different people sit / leg length etc.
2 - Yes - when toes on the pegs my heel rests on the bulge on the exhaust cover. you can see the mark and I have used Helicopter Tape to cover that area so it doesn't wear off the paint.

At least the centre stand leg is shorter now so Left foot "just" clears it
3 - Yes I have done it but you get used to it quickly, can also depend on the gloves you are wearing.

  3. 1 and 2 as per Veetwin above (less the tape solution for me)
3, if I wear goretex gloves in the wet they catch the switch but summer gloves in the dry I don't have any problems.
