  4. I had a small leak from my oil filter last year, didn't have the tool to tighten it. Had to go on the scrounge and eventually someone loaned me one.

  5. I've never used a tool to do up an oil filter in my life.

  10. Not sure why you feel the need to take half your garage with you. Duct tape and zip ties are fine if you have a low speed off but IME, if you have an off, you’ll spend the rest of the day trying to fix it. If you don’t expect to change tyres, why take sockets and torque wrenches ? The real essentials are fluids and high energy snacks. I have a small travelling kettle for hot drinks and a pot noodle. Pressure gauge, pump and tyre warmers, definitely. Extension bar with at least sockets 5 or 6 sockets and both 16A and 13A plugs to cover yourself. If going with mates, share the basics so you’re not doubling up. Andy

  15. I think it better to be over prepared than not, its not much extra effort to carry the additional items. I hate borrowing stuff of others, it just shows im poorly prepared

  18. Loctite and wirelocking are your best friends. Learnt from a mate to use a Jubilee clip to wirelock the oil filter. Every external nut and bolt on my 1098 is either thread locked or wire locked after torquing. That way I spend more time on track and less time faffing about worry something other than me is going to fall off. Got to have mates otherwise you’ve got no-one to laugh at or commiserate with.
