Hi All, after a phaff have all the pipes of my 916 and wondering if anyone had used anyone for pipe polishing in Essex I am colchester based, also it has carbon pipes and the brackets at the back that keep them together one has snapped so looking for a drill out and new bracket hoping someone could do both, thought it was worth asking if anyone has used anyone before fairly locally. thanks for any info in advance
Throw up an image of the damaged area & exhaust. Is the material titanium/steel/stainless? Personally I've used yoshimura stain-magic from japan & find it works well but on my new bike I will get the race-exhaust ceramic coated to stop having to faff about cleaning them.
Not Essex..Sussex...had my 1098 system polished including springs and brackets for £60. Just giving you this as an example price.
Drill out rivet. Make new bracket from ally or stainless. Install with new pop rivet. People may have comments on material of rivets but I personally have used standard common or garden alloy rivets on a set of Termi's that have lasted 8 or 9 years with no problems whatsoever.
i go to reality motorworks in bristol. bit of a trek but their workmanship, prices and customer service make it worth the effort.
they do polishing, powdercoating and all sorts of stuff (welding and fabbingparts) and if nic cant do it he will know someone that can, one of those chaps that cant do enough for ya and money is secondary
At £60 it's a bargain. I polished my own on my 916 but it is dirty, messy job and it probably took me around 8 hours all in. I started on the Monster's pipes and then gave up because I just couldn't be bothered with the mess again...
i originally done em my self but needed a repair to the link pipe which reality where doin whilst powder coating the frame and bits so i asked them to polish it as well... that marked the end of my polishing days! cant beat a pro job
thanks gentlemen, had a quick go on a polishing wheel and solvol and no thanks !! will be on the phone tomorrow for sure!
Ok they have left me and gone to AM polishing, first chap to make the call back and was very helpful, will post pics when they come back
