1200 Exhaust Question

  1. Having now bought a 2014 GT with a standard exhaust have looked at the web and it appears the mufflers are actually in the cat and that the end pipe is straight through
Does this mean that an aftermarket slip on makes no difference to the noise?
If removing the cat does this cause a problem with the centrestand?
I don't want mega noisy as its specifically for touring just maybe a bit more?

  2. First question, an aftermarket can will make little discernable difference on the bike. The Akrapovc does give the impression of being a little more boomier and richer. I ran without the CAT but with the OE O2 sensors with little issue other than noise. I have since had an ECU overlay to make sure the fuelling is good throughout the rev range which cost £250. 3. Did you run with an aftermarket end can also Andy? I just ordered a Leo Vince decat with the intentions of keeping the standard end can section, is this possible? I dont want blow your ears off like my Diavel, just a bit more presence?

  4. I went away from the LV decat/Akrapovic combination back to the LV decat/OE end can plus the LV excuse for a baffle that fits inside the OE end can because the Akrapovic was too lud for me although I didn't get pulled at any time whilst using that combination. LV/OE combo also worked well with stock O2 sensors although I did eventually have an ECU flash. I will say that the LV/OE combo is still LOUD although I can hear my girlfriend's Diavel over my Multistrada :). Andy

  5. Cheers Andy, that exactly my plan, my problem here is the only dealer is around 200 miles away so if I can avoid a remap it would be great!
