Exhaust Valve 1200r

Discussion in 'Monster' started by Monsterped, Apr 27, 2017.

  1. Evening all

Anyone disabled the exhaust valve on a 1200R yet? If so how? Plug in unit to fool the ECU

    Ta!

  2. Not sure if the 1200R is like the Multistrada after 2012.... but just wedge it open. Remove spring and force it in the open position. The servo will detect it is open, but not give a fault code.
If it thinks it's closed it will give a fault code...... earlier Mutleys gave a fault code if it didn't move.

  3. I believe I'm right in saying it defaults to the open position, so the easiest thing is to just disconnect the cable.

I bought a plug-in thingy to fool the ECU, but I'm told you don't need it on the Monster. I removed the cables and servo too, which is a total pig to do, as it's all up inside the battery box in the swingarm.
