Hi All I have a V4s and I'd like to add some extra led lights to illuminate the side of the road a bit better (my normal stomping grounds can sometimes be infested with suicidal pheasants so a earlier warning of impending feathery doom would be nice). I know we have cornering lights however its when I'm going straight that the little buggers tend to try and end it all. I know ducati do bolt on ones for about £300 + coding to the bike however I've yet to find any photos or videos online of how affective they are and what they add to the beam spread and light pattern of the bike. I could go aftermarket and use the switched sat nav supply (the one behind the hella socket on the rhs of the dash) to drive a fused trigger relay that would turn anything I fit on with the ignition however I'd rather have something that I can either toggle on or off when needs be (a dedicated switch added to the handlebars maybe). also has anyone else noticed that when the high beam is activated the dipped beam lights appear to shut off, can this be reversed as my old 2015 dvt had everything on with full beam.
Got the fog/riding lights on my 1200 Enduro, gives a nice wide and low fill in for the main lights. Obviously you can adjust them a bit so they're pointing where you want them ...
I had the Ducati OEM Riding / fog lights fitted from new to my V4S as the ones from the 1260 would not fit (different mounting points). Had a play in the garage and the extra lights do have a wider span than the dipped or main beam lights so should show up the verges better. On main beam it seems that the dipped lights don't go out BUT they do go dimmer when main beam is on, no idea why - heat? I use the riding lights not for better lighting of the verges but on motorways and busy A roads to make me/ the bike more visible when filtering or overtaking. Hope that helps.
