Hi all, does anyone have any idea as to the type of plastic used in the fairings for bikes built in the early 2000's - my ST3 specifically. Got a little bit of a repair to undertake, so any comments on what to use ( or not to use! ) would be appreciated. Ta
I've done some small repairs on Ducati fairings from that era with fibreglass. Strengthening areas around cracks mainly but also replacing broken off/missing parts. Works really well for me. Rough it up, clean it and laminate away. I use West system resin for larger patches but have also successfully used 2 part epoxy glue as a resin for the glass mat for small areas. The repairs are a few years old now and have held up well.
