Hello, I have to replace the left side fairings on my 7, and I've taken a quick look at the bay, but there are so many different items at very different prices .. and I would not end up buying a poor quality part, which doesn't fit or worse. Any recommendations?
If it's the earlier style with the vents don't buy very early bodywork as it becomes brittle with age and cracks and can literally fall to pieces. You can tell early bodywork by the fact that the base plastic is red regardless of colour of the bike. They stopped making it in about 1998 but it was on biposto's and SP's up until then. Anything later should be fine.
After an accident last year I bourght a full set of 'Plastic' from a dealer in China on e-bay. Cost about £350... Quality easily as good as the original... delivery time quite quick. The only downside was the colour (yellow) was half a shade out bit as the only original parts left was the petrol tank it doesn,t show much and after 15 years the original may well have faded... see image.
