Does the 996 need anything tuning/altering with the end cans. ECU, fuelling altered etc. Is there a loss of consumption with the end cans.?
Loss of consumption not noticed (well if you ignore the fact you keep it reved up for fun ;P) it will need ECU adjustment to get it running ok. Obviously full setup is always the best.
Don't think I want to mess about having bike altered etc. Your right it would need setting up to take best advantage of the system. Good luck with the sale.
It's a simple case of replacing the chip in the ecu. Look under the seat for the box, it'll have a rubber bung in the top with a silver printed seal over the top of it (unless it's been removed before). The chip is under the bung, remove it and plug the correct one in. Replace the bung, put some gaffer tape over it to seal out any water, and ride! Chips seem to about £30 ish on ebay.
Use a proper chip puller, ebay/Maplins. Chip is easier to access with the ecu box removed from its 4 rubber posts.
