After upgrading from last years 916 I went to Knutstorp (Sweden) on the newly bought 999S, which has been assembled from different parts (engine, frame, forks, slipperclutch etc. from different bikes) and I was pretty exited to learn that nothing blew up, nothing fell off the bike and everything just worked. Well, exept the driver perhaps because - DAMN - that bike is a rocket Opening it up on the first straight was a pretty scary experience! That engine is a completely different beast than the lowrev, tractorpulling 916, it sounds like a turbine and just rockets away in revs like nothing I have tried. After some laps I began to get the feeling for the new monster and I could see that I had lost 3-4 seconds compared to last end of seasons results but I'll get there again after some tracksdays. Jim
