  1. I have taken the fuel pump off the old tank and now have the replacement tank.

Is it just a case of insert the fuel pump and tighten the six bolts or is there some sealant I need to apply?

    Thanks as always.

  2. Just tighten the bolts up.

  3. Apply the specified grease to the "O" rings on the fuel pump, install the pump, install the (6) fasteners, and torque the fasteners to the specified value following the sequence presented in the shop manual. Check for leaks. If any fuel leaks from the fuel pump flange (located directly above the vertical cylinder head and exhaust), you're bike's not going to be too happy.

  4. If you like a rough result I’d force it in dry.... a bit of lube will give a much happier ending!

  5. I am not familiar with the seal arrangement, but it is always good practice to replace seals / gaskets once disturbed.
There is always the potential for a leak from a 2nd hand seal.

  8. this tank just had a new pump inserted, there is evidence to suggest that lube was used.
