Fixing Well Nuts

Discussion in 'Sport Touring' started by Julian Wells, Feb 18, 2018.

  1. The ST2 workshop manual suggests using Loctite 480 to glue the fairing well nuts in place. Has anyone tried this, and/or know what implications there are for removing old well nuts that have been fastened with it?

  2. Always used copperslip on the threads. The bolts are a bastard to remove if they seize in the nut.

  3. Absolutely agree -- though I have stainless screws in stock that I expect to also mitigate this issue next time the fairing comes off.

My original concern was about the consequences of using Loctite 480 to secure the nuts to the fairing.
