Hi, my gear lever has been a little loose at times that has meant whilst upshifting (normally) it would not go into gear and I would sound like an idiot pulling away as I miss gears. The usual solution has been just to oil and tighten. However, yesterday/today its been very consistent and annoying despite the oil and tighten. Does anyone have a solution or reason for this happening? Is it common? Any help really appreciated. Cheers
Hi, thank you for the response. I can't see anything untoward and have checked the 3 arears marked. It just won't go into gear when shifting up but it isn't consistently doing it! It's driving me mad Cheers
if your cleaning and greasing this joint and also checking the rose joint I would hazard a guess that isn't the issue, as long as the correct seals /Orings are in place if needed. maybe the QS needs checking and worse case the change mechanism needs to be checked. also chain tension ok?
Have you checked that the movement of the pedal is getting to the gearbox shaft? Is the gearbox shaft moving as much as the pedal’s input? One of the several pivots’ Allen bolts may have become loose and is not doing it’s job of transferring movement to the next point in line..
Hi, I had a good check over yesterday (there was nothing of note) and have test ridden today and all gear changes were perfect! Lets hope it stays this way and doesn't return. I am intrigued though if other 1299 Panigale owners have experienced the same issue. Cheers
My shift hasn't always felt the most precise. QS failed recently so I swapped to the translogic unit which has improved the shift feel, but as the bikes done 21k I think it's the actual lever joint that's worn and needs replacing, but I'm looking at replacement rearsets anyway
