After struggling to shoot from 2008 onwards due to back pain, I had back surgery in 2015 and had to retire from shooting (I was a long time Gloucester County archer). My kit has been in my back bedroom ever since. I'm moving to Spain in December, so I need to get shot of it (pun intended). I'd rather sell the lot as a single batch to someone who would know what to do with it. Briefly, the kit comprises: 1x Bowtech Constitution compound bow 1x Mathews LX solocam compound bow 1x Longshot flat bow Carter Chocolate (trigger) and Evolution (back tension) release aids Easton X10 arrows (used but at least 7 that are competition worthy) Easton XX75 aluminium arrows for indoor season (used but at least 7 that are competition worthy) Various other arrows for practice Kolpin soft padded compound bow case Opticron 50mm angled spotting scope with zoom lens Pyser fully adjustable tripod and bag Sureloc Supreme compound sight plus scope and lenses QuikTune 3000 adjustable drop-away arrow rest Arten v-bars with weights and Long rod with Doinker and weight Skorten bow stand (clip on) Various peeps and lenses Kit bag on wheels with handle Bow square Fletching jig String and serving materials Lots of the usual high quality accessories for arrow making, string making and serving, bow adjustment, etc. Multitool and mini torch Doosung armguard Finger slings Collapsible trolley with removable wheels for lugging kit Large practice target cube (unused) Loads of extras - basically everything a county level archer would need (mostly high quality stuff like Beiter/Easton, etc.) There's probably even some stuff I've forgotten about. I've retired early due to ill health (hence the move to Spain) so it's a bit of a struggle to remember everything and I lack the energy to list everything on ebay. It was over £2500 new. The buyer could make a tidy profit if they bought the lot and listed it all individually on ebay/Sell My Bow but I lack the energy. BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL! £700 ono, collection preferred from Gloucester. Could potentially meet buyer halfway in my car, depending on distance. Too many photos to post here so here's a link to my Google Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XtquiG4Xc4FnYifv5
Sorry I'm not an archery kinda guy. I just wanted to mention I hope sunny Spain brings you better health and energy. I have lived there too and really loved it. "Vaya con Dios, o si no con alguien!"
From what sort of distance could you drop a "Just stop oil" protestor off an M25 gantry with this? (Asking for a friend)
I gave up Archery @15yrs years ago as I just wasn't finding time to get to the range, but have been thinking about having another go. I avoided moving on to a compound bow at the time as I knew I'd get more and more into it and it would start to get ever more expensive to chase increasing accuracy expectations. But at that price I'm tempted, especially as a colleague at work mentioned recently that he too was thinking about going back to it after many years and we could share the cost. I'm sure I'd be able to dig out my old club safety certificate so you'd know you weren't selling to somebody who didn't know what they were doing with such powerful bits of kit. I'll have a chat with my colleague tomorrow, but don't worry if somebody else shows an interest in the mean time. Especially as Lady Nasher wasn't too keen last time I mentioned seeing if the old club still existed. No Bagseys at this point, just a small interest and will sleep on it.
I was 16 last time used my bow (I'm close to 64 now) when I was a member of my school team. Still got it and have strung it and drawn it a couple of times over the years but not let an arrow go. Maybe one day I'll re live some memories as I have access to suitable land to use it safely. Looks like it has changed a lot since the old days and seems like a lot of kit there for the money.
No worries, Nasher. There's no licensing for archery equipment in the UK so it's not really my business to know what you would do with the kit, but the mere fact that you've brought it up means I'd have a clear conscience, were you to buy it. Thanks.
Just a word of caution about the string. The materials from back then can look okay but give up the ghost just like that. If I were you, I'd buy a new string before stringing it again if only to save you the pain of a broken string in the face (never mind where a nocked arrow may end up). If the bow's been kept at stable temperatures I would think it would be fine.
