Hi All Apart from a sticker on the wheel, how do I know if wheels are forged? Are they stamped or marked? Or are they forgeries??...
is it the C section spokes? Also, what year are they? can you get a photo of them, specifically the spoke details. Forgings generally are smoother than a casting on recessed areas as they're drawn from blanks / solid, rather than poured into a sand mould. You might find that all the forged wheels might carry a mark like a TUV stamp as the magnesium rims supplied on out of the showroom bikes were TUV approved (higher alloy content, so safer for long term durability / due diligence as far as a road vehicle is concerned).
get a bigger picture up me old china, but if they came out of the factory like that probably forged Marchesini - if its a ten spoke then most definitely They won't be the super lightweight mag wheels, but you'll never have any trouble with them. what made you ask the question?
Hi Sev, Its just that I dont think the vendor has had a good look at what he's got before he's sold it. I am also waiting to find out if it has a slipper clutch too ... Result...
forged definitely forged if its the OEM lightweight Marchesini wheel. This thread should tell you all you need http://www.ducati.ms/forums/77-sport-classic/185737-how-tell-marchesini-749-999-wheels-get.html
