999 Fork-in

I have a spare set off a 999

 

and a spare trailer too

 

IIRC, 749S forks are Showa, same as '03 999 BP forks. As long as both have non-radial brake caliper arrangements, the forks themselves are a straight swap.

I now invoke Cunningham's Law.

 

I have some 749s forks with K-tech internals if you are interested?

749S and 999base forks are identical.
749base forks are the same but chrome lowers.

Ah, sorry, thought you might have angle ground yours in half

 

which will be better than going and buying ohlins off an S

 

I put ohlins forks from a 2004 999S on my 2006 749S. The earlier 999S models use non radial brake calipers the same as the 749 which means it's a straight swap (you'll need a 56mm bottom yoke also). I managed to pick the forks and yoke up from Italy for just £560!
