Hey Is there published anywhere frame or engine build ranges for 888 Sp's I have an SP5 with the following nos Engine - ZDM888W4-002472 VIN - ZDM888S*001708* The Engine no. seems quite early for a SP5 so just interested the build ranges Cheers Steve
Steve - if you have the bike and can take photographs of the engine number and frame number, you can get a definitive answer from Ducati themselves. I had my 888 validated before I bought it. Chris
Hi Chris, thanks for your reply. I found a contact for Ducati in another string and sent them pics of the bike, Frame and Engine numbers plus my ownership papers. Fingers crossed. Cheers
Hi Steve I hope you have better luck with Ducati than I've had. Back in 2017 I did what you have done (sent pictures of bike, engine and frame numbers) and they confirmed that my bike was an 851 SP3. Last year I contacted them again to try and get some emissions data (to do with ULEZ) - sent them exactly the same information as in 2017, they said they had no record of a bike with those numbers... I've tried (a bit half-heartedly, I admit) to pursue this with Ducati Italy, Ducati UK and the Ducati main dealer I bought the bike from in 2004, but they don't even reply to my emails any more. DId smilar for my 888 SP4; Ducati confirmed the build year/month and model once VIN#/Engine# were supplied. I have done this for several bikes over the years. Cheers, Kev.
