After Segovia, Avila and a stay in Soria - then off the beaten track and up into the misty Serra del Cadi mountains - they certainly have some mountains in Spain. I booked a Hostal in Gosol, chose the winding road on the Sat Nav and thought nothing more of it. Traffic stop for roadworks - noticed the back of the tanker was one massive mirror ! My Hotel is in them there mountains somewhere, didn't realise it would be as off track as that, but hey. Quite steep, wet roads, occasional rock debris ... Nice view ! Found the Hotel, got there from the winding back road approach. Quite empty but on Saturday it was full, including the restaurant. There was a Land Rover club, hikers, mountain bikers, a couple of French BMW riders - weekend it was full. Card machine had patchy connection so sometimes pay by card and other times not. When I left the bill was EUR 150 for 3 nights, but card machine did not work, so he accepted EUR 100 in cash - I will post the EUR 50 to him on Monday. Great place, in Gosol. View from the window Stayed here of the MotoGP weekend. About 80 miles from the track but very winding 20 miles to get out of this little village and onto a main road. Next up part 3.
