Front Brake Squeak

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by PeterT, Jul 14, 2019.

  1. Ok so I have had this problem some time on my Multistrada 1200 since I bought it some 28000 miles ago. Front brake noise when braking.
Bled system first then no change.
    Changed pads
    No change.
Changed Callipers to BMW P4 versions.
    No change
Now changed discs to a newer version.
    No change.
Done a wheel bearing change, headstock bearing change, still not cured.
Had my suspension rebuilt too but that never helped.
    Scratching my head now???
    Any thing I have missed??

  2. Tried dry and coppersilp

  3. Have you tried lightly chamfering the leading edge of the pads?

  4. Done

  5. Copperslip on the rear and side faces of the metal part of the pads, plus the piston faces?

Although this bloke is slapping it on. o_O

  6. Brake dust on the caliper pistons,so therefore not returning to give that freedom of movement between the pad & rotor:thinkingface:
