Going on a 4k mile trip in august so im changing the front sprocket as a precaution as its seen better days. Got a 15t afam sprocket on the way My question is what size is the front sprocket retaining nut ? Cheers in advance
I also changed the front sprocket only as it was showing slight signs of wear but the chain and rear sprocket were still in very good condition. Without splitting the chain it proved to be a very difficult task indeed. The frame prevents the sprocket and chain from sliding easily off the end of the shaft and with the 630 chain there is very little clearance anywhere. A job that should have taken less about 15 minutes took me 30 or 40 minutes with a lot of swearing and sore fingers at the end of it. But can be done.
