Icon Fuel Cap Bolts Rust

Discussion in 'Scrambler' started by Nemer Kharroubi, Aug 10, 2019.

  1. Hey all
The fuel cap bolts on my icon are very rusty. The ones holding the cap base to the tank, and the one in the bottom of fuel cap itself.
That's despite applying ACF50 few times.
Anybody got the sizes if these bolts? Link perhaps to change them?
    Thanks.

  2. They are M5 x 14mm. I'm surprised that yours are rusty as they are protected to some extent by the filler cap. Is the drain hole clear and the rubber tube not kinked. Although perhaps you live in particularly damp climate.

  3. I live on an island. The drain hole had some stand still water in it, but think it resolved after i moved the tank to get to the abs sensor.
I cant for the life of me track the tip of the drain hose, have you any landmarks?
I wanna change the bolts and take it from there. Thanks

  4. They should terminate in the region of the side stand unless you have a charcoal canister. Just follow them back up. Yu may have to remove the plastic cover over the oil cooler to see them.

  5. Thanks pal
