Has anyone using a Garmin 590LM with a Navihalter bracket on a 2013+ Mutley? if so, I would be grateful if you could take a measurement for me, so I can ensure that the Garmin unit is not poking over the top of my modified (cut down) screen. I need to know the dimension from the top of the bracket (where the three fixing holes are) to the top edge of the Garmin unit/mount at it's highest point. Also the width of a 590LM would be great. I don't have one yet so I cant measure it myself. May hold on for the 595LM. Please see my my highly detailed CAD drawing for the info on the dimension I need Thanks in advance Deaks
Maybe my crappy hand drawn illustration of the dimension I need was not very clear so I have another that maybe makes it a little clearer. It would be very helpful if somebody with a garmin 590 could check this measurement and let me know (please please pretty please!!) TIA Deaks
Unfortunately it doesn't look like anyone is forthcoming. Might be worth looking for a second hand cradle on eBay and either buying it cheap, or asking the seller for the measurements before you (as far as they're aware) buy it.
Hmm, I don't know why nobody has come back to me on this. there are quite a few peeps on here with Garmin 590's and it's not much of a job to measure it. It's only that I want to trim down a screen to a more pikes peak size, but I dont want the sat nav poking out over the top (bloody OCD). Missed a used one on fleabay over the weekend too. I even looked in Halfords to see if they had one there that I could measure, but no joy. I live in hope anyway Deaks
Maybe find an image that is to scale and use that?!? Cut it tall and you'll have room to go shorter if you need to.
Hi Bradders If it's the 590 you have (I recall in a previous post that you have the 590 model), is there any chance you could measure from the centre of the top fixing hole to the top of the mount (as shown in the image I posted earlier, post #2)? It dosen't matter that yours is fitted on a DVT model as the mount holes are the same. I can work from that one dimension. Although the actual width of the unit (left to right) would be helpful too.
